Match Report

Epping Town need just one point from their visit to rivals Lakeside Reserves on Saturday to guarantee themselves promotion after they ended the home season with a 6-0 demolition of Canning Town Reserves at Stonards Hill yesterday.

Promotion from Essex Olympian League Senior Division Four would have been assured if Lakeside Reserves had dropped points at Leigh Ramblers Reserves, but Lakeside won 3-1.

A hat-trick from Alex Paraskeva, two goals from Jack Leachman and another from Eamon Payne ensured Billy Cove's team are all but assured of football at a higher level next season.

Epping Town could still win the league title. They are currently one point behind leaders Corinthians who have a game in hand.

Yesterday's victory - in front of a 60-strong crowd - also further improved Epping Town's goal difference - to +65, by far the best int the whole league.
