Epping Town FC 2 vs Leigh Town 4

Epping Town’s promotion challenge took a knock when they went down 4-2 at home to leaders Leigh Town who remain unbeaten in Division Two of the Essex Olympian League

A goal from James Peagram midway through the first half brought Epping Town back on level terms but they went behind for the second time before half-time.

Peagram took over in goal after Trevor Grace suffered a serious-looking ankle injury and a late goal from Glen Warwick could only reduce the deficit as Billy Cove’s side slipped eight points off top spot with 20 points from ten matches.

Epping Town still have a game in hand on second placed Beacon Hill Rovers (24 points from 11 matches) and Old Southendian Reserves (20 points from 11 matches).
