Epping Town recorded their biggest win of the season – and their sixth successive victory – as they strengthened their promotion challenge with a 11-2 demolition of second-placed Dagenham United at Stonards Hill on Saturday.
Glen Warwick and Liam Clifton both scored hat-tricks while there were two goals for Alex Paraskeva and a goal apiece for Daniel Garfinkle, Eamon Payne and Skirhantas Bulauka.
With league leaders Corinthians only managing a draw, Epping Town narrowed the gap on the top two and now have the joint second best goal difference (+40) in all five divisions of the Essex Olympian League.
Epping Town are seven points behind leaders Corinthians (with two games in hand) and five points adrift of Dagenham United over whom they still have five games in hand.
Manager Billy Cove said: “What a performance! We knew Dagenham had a massive goal threat so we changed the formation around and we got a lot of joy from it.
“Corinthians drawing did us a favour too so it was a good day all round.”
He added: “We were unbelievable going forward today and the scoreline didn’t flatter us at all. Six wins out of six now, so we’ve got to keep it going.”
Next Saturday Epping Town travel to bottom-of-the-table Leigh Ramblers.
