Epping Town extended their unbeaten run stretching back to last season to 14 matches with a 1-1 draw at home to Old Southendian Reserves in Division Two of the Essex Olympian League.
A goal from Joe Thomas ten minutes from the end ensured a point for Billy Cove’s team who are now third, three points behind leaders Corinthians and two points adrift of second placed Beacon Hill Rovers with two games in hand on both sides.
Billy Cove said: “It was a very hard fought point against a very strong side. Our keeper, Trevor Grace, was man of the match and kept us in the game with five or six incredible saves.
“I am more than happy with the point and I wish Old Southendian Reserves all the best for the season.”
Next Saturday Epping Town have their first away fixture for more than a month when they travel to eighth placed May & Baker E.C. Reserves.
