Already-promoted Epping Town eased to a 6-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Old Barkabbeyans in Senior Division Four of the Essex Olympian League to take their goal tally against the opposition this season to 18 in three matches.
After beating Old Barkabbeyans 5-0 in their opening competitive match of the season – the First Round of the Senior League Cup – Epping Town followed that with a 7-2 win in the reverse league fixture at Stonards Hill, and completed the treble with another emphatic victory this afternoon.
Despite their dominance, Epping Town went in at half-time with only one goal to their name – a strike from Daniel Garfinkle – but the second half saw Epping Town score five times, including a hat-trick from Glen Warwick, with Chris Lockwood and Alex Paraskeva also finding the net.
The win extends Epping Town’s lead at the top of the table to five points but fellow title contenders Corinthians have three games in hand.
Next Saturday Epping Town visit Galleywood for their last match of the season, needing one goal to reach the 150-goal milestone for the season.
